Oaklands Global is proudly supporting a leading top-tier Investment Bank in their search for a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join their dynamic Consumer team in New York City. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an A2A promoted Associate with a proven track record in middle market M&A transactions within the consumer space.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated expertise in executing complex M&A deals, strong financial acumen, and a passion for the consumer sector. Key Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare client presentations and marketing materials related to mergers, acquisitions, disposals, refinancing, and equity capital market opportunities, focusing on the consumer and retail sectors.
- Coordinate transaction processes for capital raises and advisory engagements, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between internal teams and external partners.
- Support senior bankers in identifying and sourcing acquisition targets within the consumer and retail space; assist in drafting Letters of Intent (LOIs) with potential targets.
- Conduct comprehensive valuation analyses, due diligence, and financial modeling to assess and price transactions.
- Participate in meetings with potential targets, clients, senior bankers, and external transaction advisors to provide insights and drive deal discussions.
- Lead efforts in preparing proposals, conducting transaction marketing, and managing documentation throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Assist in organizing and attending client meetings, business development activities, and other marketing efforts focused on expanding client relationships in the consumer and retail sectors.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience at a top-tier investment bank with a focus on M&A transactions in the consumer and retail sectors.
- Proven experience in sell-side M&A transactions within the consumer industry is essential.
- Strong financial modeling skills, with the ability to build detailed, fully integrated financial models and analyze transaction impacts on capital structures and cash flows.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other financial analysis tools.
