Oaklands Global are currently recruiting for a Head of Manufacturing Engineering for a world-renowned organisation in the aviation industry.

As the Head of Manufacturing Engineering, you hold responsibility for meeting targets in People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost by implementing the Lean Operating Model with discipline and precision. Your role involves achieving Operational Excellence throughout your assigned Value Streams, aligning with the objectives of our Performance Centre. Additionally, you play a crucial role in fostering a positive work environment by nurturing exceptional leadership and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and transparent communication.

Furthermore, as the Head of Manufacturing Engineering, you embody true leadership qualities. You excel in translating overarching visions into detailed plans and overseeing their thorough execution. By maintaining close proximity to the team, you ensure that each member performs at their optimum level, driving success through collective effort and commitment.

Requirements

  • Significant and proven manufacturing operations leadership experience in an aerospace manufacturing organization.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a similar role within a complex aerospace manufacturing company.
  • Deep understanding of metric driven performance management.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functional lines.
  • Ability to lead, coach and mentor experienced direct reports.
  • A track record of Leadership and Direction through effective communication, building effective teams.
  • Evidence of working within a site governed through a Business Management System (BMS).
  • Experience working with a Lean Operating Model /Product Systems would be advantageous.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification by a reputable certifying body or benchmark company is desirable.
  • Experience in supply chain within aerospace would be useful.
  • Knowledge of government contracting process and proprietary contracts development would be appreciated.
  • Fluent in English.
