Oaklands Global are currently recruiting an Airfield Asset Manager on behalf of one of our leading airport clients based in the Southeast. We are seeking an organised and practically minded individualto take ownership of airside asset maintenance and condition across the airport. This pivotal role ensures that vehicles, lighting systems, buildings, and other infrastructure are maintained to a high standard—supporting safety, operational readiness, and long-term resilience.
The successful candidate will coordinate maintenance schedules, supervise contractors, and carry out light maintenance tasks where appropriate. They will also line-manage the Airfield Technician and act as a key liaison between operational departments and service providers.
Responsibilities
Asset Management & Oversight
- Maintain and update maintenance schedules for all airfield assets using Centrik or other systems.
- Ensure compliance with servicing intervals and inspection routines for airside vehicles (tractors, GPUs, fire appliances, etc.).
- Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance for airside and airport buildings (e.g. hangars, terminal, tower).
- Monitor the condition of runway and taxiway lighting systems (AGL), undertaking basic fault resolution such as bulb replacements.
Operational Readiness
- Act as liaison with RFFS, ATC, Ops and Maintenance to ensure assets are operationally fit and available when needed.
- Proactively report and escalate asset concerns affecting operational integrity.
- Manage stores of key spare parts and consumables.
People & Contractor Management
- Line-manage the Airfield Technician, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
- Coordinate external contractors for specialist work, ensuring quality and adherence to schedules.
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed and contractors are appropriately inducted.
Asset Lifecycle & Improvement
- Maintain oversight of asset condition and support planning for replacements, upgrades, and capital investment.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life through better maintenance planning.
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in facilities, maintenance, or asset management within an aviation or regulated environment.
- ATSEP Qualification
- Familiarity with light maintenance tasks and basic fault diagnosis.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical and proactive approach.
- Comfortable managing contractors and small teams.
- IT-literate and confident using digital maintenance scheduling tools
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
Desirable
- Previous experience with airside vehicle fleets and/or AGL systems.
- Formal qualifications in facilities or asset management
- Knowledge of airside safety and operational requirements.
